What is Movement School?
Nine years ago, Move To Move revolutionized physical education by opening Canada’s first general movement school of its kind in Calgary, influenced by leaders like Ido Portal.
We’ve cultivated a diverse community over the years, working with professional athletes, dancers, and fighters, as well as people from all walks of life—from executives and busy parents to students and retirees. Our members all come to us to revolutionize their understanding of their bodies, supporting each other and growing in ways they never imagined before they started. We proudly describe our program, which draws from The Human Movement Studies Program, as “Radical physical education for the 21st century.”
Our comprehensive, ever-evolving practice cultivates your body’s abilities beyond the limits of any single discipline. It focuses on three core layers:
- Physical Capacity: Improving strength, elasticity, and endurance.
- Physical Intelligence: Refining coordination and dexterity.
- Creative Potential: Exploring the subtle connection between external motion and inner experience.
We achieve this through six fields of practice: Physical Preparedness, Open Forms & Dance, Fighting, Acrobatics, Athletics, and Inner Work.


2026 Winter Semester Focus
For the Winter semester, we’ll dive deep into Physical Preparedness, Acrobatics, Open Forms & Dance, and Athletics. We will learn increase the capacity of our spine, interacting with the floor, the wall, bars, and rails. We will also train hard!

Special Series & Workshops
Focused 6-week Master Classes
Not ready to commit to a full membership but want to dive deeper into a specific subject? These specialized series run weekly and are open to dedicated members or available for non-members to purchase as a 6 week package:
- Handstands with Colin, every Tuesday from 6:30 – 7:30 pm
- Acrobatics with Kathryn, every Thursday from 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Registered Series
We are offering 2 exciting Pre-Paid Registered Series (No Drop-ins)
- Clinical Pilates Series with Karen Vito. 5-weeks starting Tuesday, January 27 – February 24 from 5:45 – 6:35pm *Clinical Pilates Assessment required, max 3 ppl
- Metabolic Mondays with Colin from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, every second Monday

Lewis Wilkins Workshop
We’re excited to share an incredible training opportunity coming to Move To Move on January 10 & 11, 2026.
In partnership with Corps Bara Dance Theatre, we’re hosting UK-based dance and movement artist Lewis Wilkins for a two-day, exploratory workshop series designed to invigorate your practice and expand your movement vocabulary. Amongst other things, Lewis Wilkins teaches at the London Movement Group in the UK!
Participants can sign up for ONE DAY or the FULL WEEKEND. Open to dancers, movers, yogis, and movement enthusiasts of all backgrounds!
