Karina Bennett
(Physiotherapist)
BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy (First Class Honours), Dry Needling Foundation (PAANZ), Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (COMT) – Shoulder
Karina completed her physiotherapy degree at the University of Brighton, England. She brings a well-rounded international background to the clinic, having spent years working in the UK’s public health system before moving to New Zealand, where she worked in private practice with a heavy focus on musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Having navigated challenging injuries herself, Karina understands firsthand the frustration of being sidelined, using that personal insight to build compassionate, realistic rehab plans.
Her clinical approach centers on education, strength, and self-empowerment. Karina combines hands-on manual therapy and dry needling with progressive strength and movement-based rehabilitation to give patients the confidence and tools to take ownership of their recovery. Working collaboratively with each individual to understand their personal goals, she helps them safely return to the sports, workouts, and daily movements they love.
Karina’s primary clinical interests include musculoskeletal rehabilitation, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), and women’s health across all life stages. She is particularly passionate about leading female group strength and conditioning classes, with a strong focus on supporting and empowering women through their perimenopause and menopause years.
Outside the clinic, Karina is an avid outdoor enthusiast who stays active through running, hiking, cycling, and surfing. In 2023, she completed a cross-Canada cycle trip that sparked an even greater love for the country and its outdoors. Now based in Calgary, she is loving everything the city and surrounding area have to offer—regularly spending her free time discovering local running routes, exploring mountain trails, and taking full advantage of life near the Rockies.
