MANUAL THERAPY

We use manual techniques such as soft tissue release and joint mobilizations to decrease tension and restore joint movement.

IMS (INTRAMUSCULAR STIMULATION), ACUPUNCTURE AND DRY NEEDLING

We use acupuncture needles to relax tight muscles and stimulate the healing of hypersensitive nerves. These modalities help stimulate the release of the body’s own natural painkillers.

INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION (IASTM)

IASTM refers to the use of instruments that allow the therapist to treat increased muscular tension, and break down scar tissue and adhesions. The therapist uses IASTM to provide pain relief and decrease dysfunction caused by these issues.

EXERCISE THERAPY

At MOVE TO MOVE, we strongly believe in an active approach to therapy. Whether you are attending sessions for injury prevention or recovering from an injury, the therapist will ask you to perform various movement patterns throughout your session to assess, treat and eventually create an effective home exercise program specifically designed for you.

To be effective, an exercise program should be progressive, allowing you to gradually gain mobility and control over time. This approach enables your body to move better and return to a pain-free active lifestyle.

Our team is highly knowledgeable and educated in exercise therapy. Our therapists have certifications from Functional Range Systems (FRS), Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and the Ido Portal Method.

VESTIBULAR THERAPY

A specialized form of therapy used to assess and treat vestibular disorders or symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo, visual disturbances and loss of balance.

Therapists require additional training to perform this comprehensive assessment to identify the patient’s specific problem.

CONCUSSION REHABILITATION

Concussion is a mild traumatic injury to the brain caused by a blow to the head.As every concussion is unique and can present with a variety of symptoms such as headaches, neck pain, dizziness and balance problems. Our physiotherapists have the knowledge and skill to guide you through safe return to work, daily living and sport.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Shockwave therapy is a soundwave which carries high energy to painful spots and myoskeletal tissues with subacute and chronic conditions. This energy helps to accelerate the healing process in the body by stimulating the metabolism and enhancing blood circulation to regenerate damaged tissue of the bones, tendons and other soft tissues.

In many instances, shockwave therapy treatments have proven to be effective in cases where the human body has not been able to heal itself on its own.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT (MVA)

Have you been involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)?

1. Call your insurance company
2. Book a physiotherapy appointment

It’s important to know that even the mildest accidents can lead to injuries, and that these injuries may not show symptoms right away but can lead to significant pain, discomfort, and loss of function at later times.

In Alberta, you can start your physiotherapy treatment even before you see your family doctor, and it is very likely that your treatment will be covered by your car insurance. All persons involved in an accident, both drivers and passengers, are eligible for treatment under the Motor Vehicle Act.

At MOVE TO MOVE, our therapists have a deep knowledge of the MVA injuries and most effective treatments for resolving them.

During your first visit you will be assessed and treated, and the proper reporting will be sent to your insurance company. Treatments for MVA are billed directly to your insurance company. Your therapist will communicate with your claims officer to ensure you get the treatments you need to recover fully.
